It is from this connection between memory and landscape that Tears, the fragrance by Denim Tears and Comme des Garçons Parfums, was born. More than a scent, it is an invitation to travel through the senses.
A journey back to the roots
The story begins in Georgia, USA, where Tremaine Emory, founder of Denim Tears, spent part of his childhood summers.
There, among cotton fields, red earth and the unmistakable warmth of the American South, memories were made that would find a new form of expression decades later.
Known for exploring history, identity and the legacy of the African diaspora through fashion, Emory now brings his creative vision into the world of perfumery.
The result is a fragrance that captures a very particular moment: the scent of cotton fields after the rain, when moisture still lingers on the vegetation and warmth begins to rise from the earth.

Nature as a language
To bring this vision to life, perfumer Paul Guerlain has created a floral and musky composition that moves beyond the traditional codes of perfumery.
Opening notes of galbanum, sage and ambrettolide evoke the green freshness of rain-soaked vegetation. At its heart, narcissus, jasmine and iris introduce a delicate floral dimension, while base notes of vetiver, hay, cypriol and musk recreate the dry warmth of sunlit earth.
The contrast between freshness and warmth defines a deeply sensory fragrance, where every note seems to awaken a different image.
