Converse by Rick Owens, volumen II

On this occasion, the most iconic product of the sporty house is accompanied by accessories for the Fall-Winter 2021/22 collection. A black or white peaked cap together with a black backpack, all stamped with the star logo of the Allstar model interpreted by the designer, who elongates the proportions of one of its tips. The photographic session, again, under the creative direction of the artistic duo Matieres Fecales, who is also in charge of modeling the campaign.

The second part of the Rick Owens collaboration with Converse has revealed the new models of the popular Chuck Taylor with the silhouette reinterpreted through excessive proportions and small details that provide unexpected volumes. With the name DRKSTAR, they follow the TURBODRK Chuck 70 model in this Converse x DRKSHDW collaboration (the line focused more on a street style athleisure, but always with the disruptive touch). The classic high (HI) or below the ankle (OX) options are, of course, presented with two color alternatives: high-top white or low-top black. Designed by Rick Owens, the main attraction of the collaboration lies in the dimensions and proportions of the elements that make up the pieces, faithfully following Owens' aesthetics. One of the distinctive features of the new models created by the Californian is the unexpected volumes that deconstruct a pair of sneakers that have an excessively elongated tongue and a more powerful sole, resulting in a clear example of the brutalist style of the Rick Owens designs. The round toe cap -contrasting to the squared one of the first editionstands out in accordance with the sole superimposed on top of the original one. The sneakers also play with textures, adding weave to the cotton fabric of the boot with a rougher result than the initial version of the Chuck Taylor.
